The Desert Grove Pavilion is a conceptual commercial project designed as a flexible multi-use space centered around a plant nursery and community retail environment.

Project Overview
The Desert Grove Pavilion is a conceptual commercial project designed as a flexible multi-use space centered around a plant nursery and community retail environment.
Evolution Drafting was engaged to develop a conceptual building layout and a series of visualization images to help bring the early design vision to life. The goal of the project was to explore the architectural form, spatial layout, and visual character of a modern commercial building that could support a nursery operation while also allowing for additional retail or business spaces in the future.
The final deliverables included conceptual plans, elevations, and multiple perspective renderings to illustrate how the building could function within a desert landscape setting.
Project highlights:
Project Type: Commercial Concept Design
Primary Use: Multi-use retail space with nursery
Architecture Style: Modern desert contemporary
Key Features: Central glass atrium, expansive storefront glazing, landscaped pedestrian approach
Deliverables: Concept floor plan, architectural views, and visualization images
Design Vision
The client envisioned a modern, welcoming commercial structure that could serve as a destination for both plant nursery customers and future retail tenants.
The concept focused on creating a building that feels open and inviting while still maintaining a strong architectural identity.
Key design ideas included:
A central curved glass entry pavilion acting as the main focal point of the building
Large glass storefronts allowing natural light and strong interior visibility
Multiple building wings that can accommodate different commercial uses
A flexible interior layout that could evolve as the business grows
Desert-appropriate landscaping integrated into the site design
The result is a structure that blends modern architecture with a landscape-driven environment.
Concept Development
The conceptual floor plan explores how multiple spaces could be organized around a central circulation point.
The building’s layout is intentionally modular, allowing different tenants or functions to occupy separate wings of the structure.
The design package included:
Conceptual floor layout plans
Architectural elevations
Technical isometric views
Concept renderings for visualization
These drawings helped translate early ideas into a coherent architectural concept. The plan sheets included building layout diagrams and structural framing assumptions typical for conceptual design stages.
Architectural Features
Several design elements help define the building’s identity:
Central Glass Atrium
A curved glass entry pavilion creates a striking focal point and serves as the primary access point into the building.
Expansive Storefront Glazing
Large floor-to-ceiling windows provide visibility into the interior spaces and help create a bright, open atmosphere for retail and nursery displays.
Multi-Wing Building Layout
The structure branches into multiple wings that can house different businesses or departments, supporting a flexible multi-tenant concept.
Modern Desert Architecture
Neutral materials, clean geometry, and drought-friendly landscaping allow the building to blend naturally into a desert environment.
Concept Visualization
To help communicate the architectural vision, Evolution Drafting created a series of conceptual visualization images that illustrate how the finished building could appear within its environment.
These visualizations showcase:
The pedestrian approach to the main entry
Street-level perspectives of the structure
Desert landscape integration
Overall massing and architectural form
By combining conceptual drawings with realistic visualization images, the design team was able to provide the client with a clear picture of how the project could take shape.

Project Outcome
The conceptual design package allowed the client to evaluate the building’s layout, visual identity, and potential commercial use before committing to full architectural development.
Conceptual visualization is a valuable early-stage design tool that helps:
Communicate architectural ideas clearly
Explore design directions quickly
Align client expectations before detailed engineering begins
Support early planning or investor presentations
