Solara was designed for a client seeking a modern, light-filled home that balances simplicity with sophistication. The goal was to create a space that supports everyday living, remote work, and family gatherings, all while maintaining a strong connection to nature and a sense of peaceful retreat.

Solara included a full architectural design package focused on modern form, functional flow, and a natural material palette. Key elements of the design include:
A 2,761-square-foot layout with open-concept living and dining spaces
A private master suite and flexible bedroom/office options
Seamless indoor-outdoor transitions with large windows and sliding doors
Modern Japanese-inspired detailing with stucco, wood siding, and stone
Durable, low-maintenance materials including a standing seam metal roof
Covered outdoor areas for year-round enjoyment and entertaining

A primary design challenge was creating a home that balanced openness and privacy across two floors while maintaining a clear and functional layout. Additionally, blending modern Japanese-inspired aesthetics with durable, climate-appropriate materials demanded careful attention to proportion, texture, and detail to ensure the home felt both refined and enduring.
